Anti Ragging Squad

MIET Kumaon Anti-Ragging Squad


The institute has constituted an Anti-Ragging Squad to maintain a safe, healthy, and ragging-free environment within the campus and hostel premises. The squad operates as per the directives of the Hon'ble Supreme Court of India and guidelines laid down by the UGC to ensure a zero-tolerance policy towards ragging.

The squad is vigilant at all times and undertakes surprise inspections across academic buildings, hostels, cafeterias, recreation areas, and all other student zones. Surveillance and monitoring mechanisms, such as CCTV coverage and anonymous reporting channels, further support the squad’s activities.

Any student found involved in any form of ragging—be it physical, mental, or emotional abuse—shall be subject to severe disciplinary actions. These may include:

  • Immediate suspension from the institution.
  • Expulsion from the hostel and permanent prohibition from availing hostel facilities.
  • Debarring from attending classes and academic privileges.
  • Denial of admission to any institution in the future under the same university or board.
  • Filing of an FIR and possible imprisonment as per law.

    • The Anti-Ragging Squad works in close coordination with the Anti-Ragging Committee and the Proctorial Board to ensure proper investigation and enforcement of discipline. Students are also required to submit an anti-ragging affidavit jointly signed by themselves and their parents/guardians at the time of admission.

    Students are encouraged to report any incident of ragging or suspected misconduct without fear of retaliation. Their identity and confidentiality will be protected under institutional policy.
